Help Us Celebrate Young Musicians!
Green Mountain Youth Symphony (GMYS) is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a sense of unity among young musicians from central and northern Vermont and New Hampshire. We are a youth classical music program founded in 2001, providing young musicians with a place to collaborate and make music together. Our mission transcends borders and cultures as we believe in the power of music to connect people, inspire creativity, and instill a sense of camaraderie among young artists. We celebrate the enthusiasm of our young musicians and guide them as they express their passion through the performance of great music. During our concert season, we are proud to host three different youth orchestras. Each one is designed to accommodate musicians at varying skill levels and provide them with a nurturing environment where they can explore and grow their musical talents.
At GMYS, we understand that learning is most effective when it’s fun and engaging. We provide a stimulating environment that fosters both personal and musical growth. Our programs are not just about performing; they’re about enjoying the process, making new friends, and creating unforgettable memories. We believe that every child who shows an interest in music should have the opportunity to explore and nurture their passion, regardless of their financial situation. That’s why we offer need-based tuition assistance to ensure that all interested young musicians have the chance to participate in our orchestral programs.

Just Food Hub
We are raising awareness in our local communities about real organic and fair-traded food, worker coops, and corporate consolidation in the food system. Our products include high-quality and affordable artisan food like coffee, chocolate, tea, cheese, and hot sauce from cooperative farms in the Global South and small US organic farms.
Just Food Hub’s mission is to offer community groups, like Green Mountain Youth Symphony, a regular fundraiser for their valuable work in our communities. We do this by selling these wonderful foods online and giving the profits to the community group. Green Mountain Youth Symphony receives 25% of all purchases when you click Green Mountain Youth Symphony at checkout. We offer free delivery of your purchases in 18 towns including Barre, East Montpelier, Marshfield, Montpelier, and Plainfield and can ship them elsewhere for a $10 charge.
Just Food Hub collaborates with Equal Exchange, a worker coop that develops a noncapitalist people-centered food system that brings food justice and integrity to the US family table. Equal Exchange endorses organic and sustainable farming practices and democratic and worker-owned farming cooperatives throughout the Global South, Palestine, and the United States.
In addition to helping you eat well and building strong local economies and community groups, we are working to address the climate crisis and food insecurity. Join us and be the change you want to see in the world.
