Palestinian Almond Olive Oil Soap

Purified and filtered through the traditional slow cooking process, Nablus soap is the standard bearer of a soap tradition dating back 4,500 years to ancient Syria and Iraq: a slow-cooked, kettle-fired pure olive oil soap. Traditionally, the mix is soaked and cooked slowly in a cauldron through a hot process until it converts to soap and no lye remains. It is then cooled on a stone floor and cured in chimney-shaped towers for up to eight months to create a hard, long-lasting bar. The natural scent is achieved with a ratio of 7% almond and 93% olive. The Tbeleh family, which has operated since the year 1611, makes this soap for the Palestinian Soap Cooperative. Certified Organic.
