Help Us Care for the Community!
Twin Valley Senior Center aims to facilitate the social, emotional, and physical well-being of independent senior citizens by providing access to community resources and providing services and activities that maintain senior citizens’ independence and wellness.
Twin Valley Senior Center distributes Meals on Wheels for surrounding towns: Cabot, Calais, East Montpelier, Marshfield, Plainfield, Woodbury, and some areas of Montpelier. They deliver Meals on Wheels to clients and serve in-house meals 3 days a week. All are welcome to join for the noontime meals on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Activities include exercise classes: Bone Builders, Arthritis Exercise Foundation Program, and Tai Chia, in person or on Zoom. Other activities include art classes, book club, Mah Jongg, bingo, special presentations (Senior Medicare Patrol, Claudia Pringles, Esq., Central VT Council on Aging, and more), free tax clinics, foot and vaccination clinics and music (sing alongs, name that tune and Craig on the keyboard).
Twin Valley Senior Center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to come in and enjoy meals served and activities offered. Most events and classes are free (donations are appreciated) with no annual membership fee.
Just Food Hub
We are raising awareness in our local communities about real organic and fair-traded food, worker coops, and corporate consolidation in the food system. Our products include high-quality and affordable artisan food like coffee, chocolate, tea, and hot sauce from cooperative farms in the Global South and small US organic farms.
Just Food Hub’s mission is to offer community groups, like Twin Valley Senior Center, a regular fundraiser for their valuable work in our communities. We do this by selling these wonderful foods online and giving the profits to the community group. Twin Valley Senior Center receives 25% of all purchases when you click Twin Valley Senior Center at checkout. We offer free delivery of your purchases in 18 towns including Barre, East Montpelier, Marshfield, Montpelier, and Plainfield and can ship them elsewhere for a $10 charge. We can also arrange to meet you elsewhere.
Just Food Hub collaborates with Equal Exchange, a worker coop developing a noncapitalist people-centered food system that brings food justice and integrity to the US family table. Equal Exchange promotes organic and sustainable farming practices and democratic and worker-owned farming cooperatives throughout the Global South, Palestine, and the United States.
In addition to helping you eat well and building strong local economies and community groups, we are working to address the climate crisis and food insecurity. Join us and be the change you want to see in the world.
